Installation: Disobedient Fairy Tales, colored pencils and collage on paper, 29,7 x 41 cm. Galleria Biagiotti, Florence, Italy 2013. The 18 drawings/collages always portray myself, called to engage with the subjects and environments that surround my image. By employing camouflage colors, images of marching solders, war scenes, and military training, the frames become instances in which play and disobedience participate in the narrative, without ever being completely defined as such. The first few years of the new millennium saw Italy abolish the compulsory military service, starting with those born in 1986, my year of birth.
