Models: terracotta, 53 x 50 x 35 cm. Florence, 2014. These models are like a mnemonic exercise. Scale is subverted and therefore becomes a unique form within the environment. Inspired by the bunkers along the Ligurian coast, where Bunker’s Border also took form, my models become archeological objects, documenting a personal fiction. The Third Reich bunkers were hyper-designed structures in line with modern architectural wishes, but once placed into the environment, all their modernity was rendered useless and they became archeological objects full of “naturalness” – shelters and refuges ready to hold new narrations.
